THIS ISSUE:
Great website design starts by being less colorful
The truly wonderful feature of the new retina screens is their ability to display, differentiate and create millions of colors. Can millions of colors be a bad thing?
Yes, especially in web designing. Now, more than ever, less is more. Too many colors slow down the web experience. Mixing too many colors together creates a "shouting" experience rather than a selling one.
TIP: Start with a white background and add color(s) one at a time until you've created a pleasant harmony and personality. Then stop, unless you're selling rainbows! |
